Do I speak Italian or Greek?
I speak perfectly both!
From the day I was born my mum spoke me Greek and my dad Italian so to learn both languages. I am bilingual. We did the same with my husband to our kids, Alexandros and Marianna and it was fun the first years, until they learned to allocate the words correctly... you had to know both languages to understand them...! But only I had this privilege as Niko did not know Italian... 😜

Am I Catholic or Orthodox?
Officially I am Catholic like my father, following the tradition, while mum is Orthodox, but we never felt any difference between the two if not in some ways of practicing which we always enjoy depending on where we are and the circumstances. Where do I live?
For 20 years I lived in Italy and we never missed once our summer holidays to Greece, every year for at least a couple of months or so. Growing up I realized that Greece was the ideal place for me and when also love came into the scene, I decided to move permanently. And then I started the other way round... going to Italy all the time!

What school did I go?
I attended the Italian school in Rome but every Saturday evening my parents took me to the Orthodox church in Rome where classes were taking place to learn Greek... of course I have to admit that my written Greek has never become perfect but since Google came into our lives I can manage veeery well!😁 I did the opposite in Greece and took my kids every Saturday to the Italian consulate to learn Italian.

How was my wedding?
Well, my husband Niko is Greek Orthodox so we had the privilege to do both ceremonies, which was awesome!!! We enjoyed two different experiences and the whole wedding lasted double the time since after the first ceremony in the Catholic Church we went to the Orthodox Church for the second one. We had just two hours in between for beautiful photos...

How do I feel the most,
Italian or Greek?
Well I am proud to say that I really feel "half and half". I was very lucky to be born from both and been passed both cultures, traditions and believes. Just, growing up I instinctively chose the aspects of each side I liked the most and their fusion turned into my personality of today. This is one of the priviliges of being half Italian & half Greek💕
